Recalibration

I joined engineering to make things, but working as an engineer at Amphenol ironically got in the way of this. Before Amphenol, I always felt like I contributed something at work. After working for 3 years at Amphenol, it killed my drive to do engineering. I felt like I never had support to do anything new, like people I worked with were never on the same team.

This repelled me away from engineering, but now I am thinking about finding a startup or some smaller company to integrate into. I still debate becoming a firefighter since I miss lifeguarding, but I got bored of lifeguarding and won’t be surprised if firefighting gets old as well. I really want to do real engineering, where I am challenged to contribute every day and am working with a bunch of people on the same page.

I will be steering back to engineering and exploring if I can make it work. I really enjoyed my time at FerroTec and my senior project. I’ll be trying to get my FE license as well and refresh myself on engineering to see if there are any new areas that could cleanse my palette.

I wrote this all really fast just to have something to put on the website. The last few weeks have been very stressful, but I think I am in the clear now so I hope to put more on here. I have been making some modifications to the career page and some other stuff.
